Colorado: Postdoc position on scientific data compression
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position available immediately in the Applied Mathematics and Smead Aerospace Engineering Sciences departments at the University of Colorado, Boulder. The appointee will conduct fundamental research in broad areas of large-scale PDE data compression using advanced techniques from machine learning, PDE discretization, model reduction, and scientific computing. The postdoc will be co-advised by Profs. Stephen Becker (Applied Math) and Alireza Doostan (Aerospace).
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in areas related to applied mathematics and computational sciences or engineering. Preference will be given to candidates with computational skills and expertise in one or more areas including but not limited to randomized linear algebra, deep learning, model reduction, and online optimization strategies.
For any questions or submitting an application, please contact Prof. Stephen Becker (stephen.becker@colorado.edu) or Prof. Doostan (doostan@colorado.edu).
