PhD positions on migration & urban Europe
The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network MITIME ("Entanglements of Migration and Time in Post-industrial Urban Europe") has launched a call for 15 doctoral research positions as part of its international PhD training programme. These fully funded positions offer an excellent opportunity for ambitious early-career scholars to pursue interdisciplinary and intersectoral research on migration, mobility, integration, transnationality, time, borders and urban studies, policy, and related fields. The network is designed to foster scientific excellence and will support researchers' professional development through structured training and supervision, international mobility, and a nurturing, collaborative atmosphere.
The three-year, full-time positions will be hosted by institutions across the network's seven partner countries: Belgium, Ireland, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and Turkey.
Selected candidates will complete and submit a doctoral thesis in a particular field, participate in international secondments to other universities and civil society partners, and actively participate in the leadership of core MITIME project outputs (e.g. scientific articles, conference panels, EC reports, thematic workshops, etc.).
The deadline for applications is 1 February 2026. Full details on individual doctoral project descriptions, eligibility criteria, and application procedures can be found at: www.migrationtime.eu.
