Brazil: Faculty Position: Professor of Mathematical and Statistical Foundations of Computing
The Institute of Technology and Computing (ITEC) invites applications for a full-time, exclusive-dedication faculty position in the Mathematical and Statistical Foundations of Computing — the disciplines that teach future computer scientists to model, compute, and solve the hardest problems of the real world.
ITEC is a newly founded, philanthropic, non-profit institution offering an immersive, full-time, residential undergraduate program in Computer Science. Supported by R$400 million in investment over its first ten years, ITEC is building a 20-hectare campus in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Its mission is to find and educate the next generation of technology talent in the country. The curriculum is led by Giselle Reis (Director of the Computer Science program at Carnegie Mellon University Qatar), together with academic-council members Luis Lamb and Maria Klawe.
The successful candidate will teach core courses including Discrete Mathematics, Analytic Geometry and Linear Algebra, Probability and Statistics, and Differential Equations and Applied Mathematics, within a small, excellence-driven academic community offering close, individualized mentorship of students. Requirements: a completed PhD, or a PhD in progress, in an area compatible with the position's disciplines.
Applications are open from June 1 to August 31, 2026. For the full call (Edital No. 002/2026) and application details, please visit: http://www.itec.org.br/pt/selecaodocentes
