Germany: Constitution Fellowships 2026/27

Applications for 15 re:constitution Fellowships are open, available in two tracks from October 2026 to July 2027. This program promotes Europe-wide mobility and collaboration, offering early- to mid-career scholars and practitioners the chance to research and publish on democracy and the rule of law in Europe.

Fellowship Tracks:

  • Track 1: Full-time, 6-month mobility with 8 fellowships for scholars and practitioners.

  • Track 2: Part-time, 3-month full-time or 6-month part-time mobility with 7 fellowships exclusively for practitioners.

Locations:
Fellows will conduct research at host institutions across the EU, non-EU EEA countries, and select locations in the Western Balkans, including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia, as well as Georgia, Moldova, Switzerland, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.

    Eligibility:
    Open to residents in the EU, non-EU EEA countries, and select neighboring countries. Scholars should hold or be completing a PhD, while practitioners from various fields are encouraged to apply.
